Objectives
To know
the history of the Camino de Santiago -Discover the benefits of being outside in the nature.
Create
an ecological and sustainable understanding of the planet.
- To make the students learn in a different and more reflective way. A way that will facilitate in- depth learning.
- When we share the learnings from the project, this will inspire more teachers to be creative when it comes to didactics.
- For Norway: be a contribution to the new curriculums.
- The Spanish school is working with the implementation of new pedagogical philosophy and learnings from this project will be a contribution to their implementation.
- Students will be aware of the benefits of taking time to think and this will help them in school and private life after the ending of the project; longlife learning
- We will ask the students to deliver their mobile phones to the teachers in the mornings so that the focus will be completely on the walk and talk. Intercultural/intergenerational education and (lifelong)learning:
- To make the students experience how the bridge between the two cultures bit by bit is being built. And that they are building it.
- The students will reflect about ethics when it comes to sustainable development, when it comes to intercultural understanding and when it comes to differences in the society. The Social Dialogue: the core of this project.
- To make the students use the dialogue, together with the walking, to strengthen their knowledge about the different topics that we will work with.
- Results: In-depth learning of topics from the different subjects.
- We will decide together with the teachers that will be involved, which topics the students shall work with. It will be important to first concretize how we can detect the in- depth learning.
- The students will need to produce a learning product every day. The learning products will be different depending on the subject.
- The students will have knowledge about the cultural heritage of one of the pilgrimage routes in Spain, el Camino de Santiago, and in Norway, Tunsbergleden.
- They will learn that Nidaros in Norway and Santiago de Compostela in Spain is connected by a pilgrimage route.
- The fact that they will not be able to use their mobiles during the walking and talking will produce a better capacity among the students to have longer conversations with each other.
- When it comes to the new methodology, the result will be a better understanding of how Walk and Talk and Walk and Learn can be used inside and outside classrooms.
By achieving all the objectives mentioned and producing the results above we will be promoting the social and educational value of European cultural heritage as well as a comprehensive approach to language teaching and learning. All of this will lead us to promote our most relevant priority, the strengthening of the profile of our teaching profession.
